DRUMS + PERCUSSION + VOCALS
Dan Perriello is a born drummer. When his parents couldn’t afford a drum set or lessons, Dan began air drumming with chopsticks - reading, watching and listening to everything he could to teach himself drums. Finally acquiring a vintage Rogers set two agonizing years later, he joined his first band and played his first gig within months.
In the nearly 30 years since, Dan has performed with countless top Washington, DC musicians at major venues such as the 9:30 Club, HFStival, and Nationals Park, opening for acts ranging from Andrew WK and Gavin DeGraw to comedian Bob Sagat. He has drummed on several EPs and full-length albums, including the Wammie-award winning “Second Place Confession” by Bicycle Thieves and “Wanderlust” by Laura Burhenn.
Writing and recording original songs under the name Amateur Hour, Dan has had music from his recording “This Year’s Epiphany” licensed to television networks and programs such as “Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins” and the Golf Channel. A passionate musician and educator, Dan brings the same joyful exuberance to his performances and lessons as he felt when he got his first kit.
